In Term 4 2020 some classes have returned to in-person delivery for students who are able to come to our campuses. Please see table below for the mode assigned to your course.

Partial Face-to-Face Learning
Your training session will be comprised of three major components:
Your timetable were chosen by you in your orientation. If you wish to change your shift, you will need to contact the college to do so. You can ONLY do so during the first 2 weeks of every term.

Your virtual training session will be comprised of three major components:
Please understand that this is just an exceptional measure, and students are required to return to face-to-face study immediately upon notification from Abbey College Australia.
Assessments must be submitted through your Moodle portal by your due date during this time unless advised otherwise.
If you are submitting your assessments late or you are trying to re-submit your assessment, you need to inform serena@abbeycollege.edu.au after you do so.
You still need to achieve a minimum of 80% attendance during the outbreak, but with flexibility on how to attend your classes.

Your session will be comprised of two major components: 1, 15-hour face-to-face classes every week. You also have an option to attend your class on Zoom session. 2, Moodle 5 hours self-paced attendance. Submit Self-Paced quizzes every week before 11:59pm Sunday (remain inside the quiz for 5 hours). If you are attending classes in-person, every day trainers sign attendance List. Make sure you check the trainer ticked your name. If you are attending classes through Zoom session, your attendance will be recorded automatically according to your presence in the zoom session as well as your self-paced activities. |

Online Training platform is where you get your LIVE training every day. Note that this is different from your Moodle (where you get all your course-related materials) and RTOmanager (where you get all administration support).

We have been doing our best in giving options and flexibility to students during the COVID-19 crisis, and we have solutions for every student. If there is anything you need help with, you should contact us immediately.
If you are not able to make up the morning lecture class, you are encourage to attend an evening support class and watch the recording inside the support class so that if any question pops up you can ask the trainer straight away. You should then attend another 8 hours of support class for additional support on your assessments and self-paced learning. In addition to that, please do not forget your 5 hours self-paced quizzes.
For example, Annie is a Certificate IV in Business student and her lecture time is Mon & Tue 9:00 – 13:00 and Annie were unable to attend the lecture. Annie can first attend Mon & Tue support class 17:00 -21:00 and watch the morning lecture recording inside the support class, and then attend Wed & Thur support class 17:00 – 21:00 for individual support. In additional to that, Annie should conduct self-paced study and complete the quizzes. This allow Annie to achieve full attendance and get her required training.
If your course is under Partial Face-to-Face Training, there will be no separation of lecture and online classes. You will not have the freedom to pop into different classes with different trainers. You will need to stick with your timetable and your trainer for the whole term and submit your assessments to your allocated trainer.

You should access online teaching material remotely and participate by remote means. This is achievable for lectures and for many support classes.
Where possible, laboratory practicals will convert to video demonstrations or other methods that can be accessed remotely. Individual trainers or course coordinator will inform you of details via email or other means.
You must hold a valid student visa in order to study with us, regardless of whether you are offshore or onshore. If you are offshore and does not have a student visa, you will need to contact us immediate and apply for withdrawal or suspension.
No. Your attendance will be recorded automatically without the need for you to put your name in the chat box. However, please remember to use the format (Student ID – Your Name) in your Zoom account when you join your online training class. Otherwise system cannot recognise who you are and cannot allocate attendance to you. Typing your name in the chat box does not help with identifying you in the system.

No. Both lecture and support classes are mandatory to give you a complete set of training. Lecture aims to give you knowledge about course, whereas support class gives you individual support on Q&A as well as Assessment assistance. You are only required to attend a minimum of two days per week for support class plus your weekly lectures. However, feel free to attend additional support hours if you need it.
You must participate in your class at the specified time (Australian Eastern Standard Time – AEST) unless the college has advised that a class is not compulsory or has been recorded.
Special Consideration will not be awarded on the grounds that you are in different time zone.
You have the option to defer your course for a maximum of 6 months
You are also welcomed to come to our campus and borrow our computer or equipment during office hours. Please note that maximum capacity and distancing rules apply.

Your CoE will be cancelled but a new one will be issued straight away with the new dates. Please note that during the period of suspension/deferment you do not have a valid CoE. Your student visa should stay in place. However, it is a student visa condition to not stay inside Australia without a valid CoE for more than 8 weeks. We recommend that you also notify the Department of Home Affairs.
You need both a valid COE and visa to enter Australia.
